Panic Stations!

Postby Michael P » Tue 04 Jul 2006 7:48 pm

I'm due to fly out tomorrow at 6.30 am to Nice and I received an email 1 hour ago to say they have had to cancel my return flight on 18 July :x .

I cannot believe Easyjet didn't know about this sooner.

If my daughter hadn't checked the emails this evening I suspect we would have arrived back at Nice airport in 2 weeks time and would have been stranded for at least a day.

Anyway, you will have some peace and quiet from me for a fortnight, Or will you?

Well I have arrived.

I am staying in a villa in La Napoule just outside Cannes. Absolutely stunning!

I think I can even see better here

Im going to watch the footie now. I have been warned to stay away from Cannes if France win because it will be gridlocked.

Michael,

As you're now posting from France, I've adjusted your flag accordingly!

Feel free to reset it on your return :)
John

J'espere que tu passes de bonnes vacances en France et qu'il fasse chaud pour toi. Regarder le dernier match du Coup de Monde en France, c'est de la chance que ça! (Même si je déteste le foot....)

I was in France the night they won the world cup. we were driving back from Apt sur Luberon, and stayed over in Rhemes. Our daugther was in the square covered in body paint depicting the Scottish Flag *a very popular symbol in France), while we remained in the champagne bar to enjoy the match on a big screen.

What a night.

The fireworks that followed were spectacular, but we had to be up early to make our way back to the tunnel for a train to Felixtowe and then the drive north. Nonetheless it was the place to be.

I had thought that Michael's flag was an expression of support for France and opposition to Italy. :D

Have a great holiday

Andrew

Merci Vic, Andrew et Gareth.

Anne, trust you to lower the tone of the conversation

Vic, have you found a name for your dog yet.

Guess what on my second day here I have wrapped the hire car around a low invisible wall coming out of the driveway

I have to check out the excess but it won't be low. Oh well worse things happen at sea.

I'm off to supper now. That always lifts my spirits.

Vive La France.

Hi Michael,

Glad to hear you're enjoying your holiday and keeping up with the rapidly developing, if a little alarming, forum habit of destroying innocent motor vehicles  Gareth and Jay will no doubt need to compare notes

And if worse things really do happen at sea then 'appen you'd better not be hireing any pedaloes while you're out there

Keep wearing your shades 8)

Brigid
