I seriously think he had me in mind when he wrote these words. Although I had not yet been born. Then again maybe he was stricken with the curse of prescience. Oh dear, I think I make his point all to amply!

Louise,

I move in circles where people have Ferraris and Lamboughinis! Driving and not cleaning them.

Last time I was in a posh West End theatre a bloke asked if he was related to me, because I looked very much like one of his relations. Took his number and tol my mum. She then recounted a story where she was invited to a posh blokes house where she went accompanied by my dad for safety (this was in the early sixities while they were courting) and above the mantle piece this guy showed them a picture of his gran; the portrait could have been of my mum and my gran the likeness was so close.

What do they say about men and cars? Is it the same as they say about women and driving?

There was a lovely cartoon. It showed two express queues in Tesco. The first was "Express Checkout: ten items or less"

The second was "Pedants' Checkout: ten items or fewer"
