My wife and I have got handling call centres to a fine art.

We do one of the following;

1) Take control of the conversation and the call centre hangs up within 30 seconds.

or

2) Pretend to be interested and really keep them on the line pretending to be different people that are interested.

The second one really hits their bonus as they are on commission these telly sales call centres. The longer they are on the phone, the higher their phone bill and we do the rest of the people on their hit list a favour because they do not have tiome to call them.

We are registerd with a BT service to stop sales calls, we just get surveys from an international destination which then leads to a no obligation quote.

I think you refer to the telephone preference service....which I cannot recommend highly enough.

I registered and the calls stopped immediately.
