Wayne Rooney?

Postby jayuk » Tue 02 May 2006 10:33 am

Who here thinks the absense of Wayne Rooney will be the reason we dont have as good a chance to win the world cup?

And who doesnt care! lol

Myself, I think one man doesnt make a team and I feel for the other players who must feel like they arent as good due to the hype!...But dont get me wrong..he is an outstanding player....but one man dont win the world cup

In agree Jay.

England won't win the world cup with or without him.

I also think it is unlikely that Owen will make much of an impression either. He is so injury prone that he will probably only last half a game if he does play

There was a time when we had 4 or 5 decent strikers and some were unlucky to be overlooked. Now apart from Rooney and Owen, imho there is nobody. I guess Bent could surprise us all, but I feel he hasn't got the experience. Cole is very promising and Lennon is brilliant. I'd like to see both ahead of Beckham.

Bent Id like to see.....as I think he may actually surprise alot....as long as u ignores the platform he is performing at..Like owen did in 98.

Plus, he actually runs at people!.....sadly we dont have that many aside from Rooney, Lampard, Campbell who actually run at people...with the ball

Don't know much about Argentina but they are always a threat.
Sol Campbell run with the ball? Not really.
At the moment he is having enough problems defending.
