Soft lens solution?

Postby Sweet » Tue 25 Apr 2006 9:22 pm

After wearing my piggy back lenses for a while it goes all cloudy and i need to rinse them, but i have only been taking out my RGP and rinsing that. Today though i decided to take the soft one underneath out as well to rinse it, and what a difference it made!

They both seem to mist over and so i do need to rinse them both. As my soft lens is from Moorfields and they gave me two bottles of Optifree Express i haven't really looked for anything else. These are so dam large that i'm not going to take them to work with me to rinse my lens, so am now looking to get a different soft lens solution that i can rinse them with. Any ideas? Today i used some saline and blink eyedrops but it wasn't that good.

I guess i could go looking for a soft lens solution, but was just wondering if anyone could recommend any? Optifree Express is a nice all in one solution, which is good as i use the Boston cleaner and conditioning solution for my RGP.

Thanks! Sweet X x X

Claire

The issue you may have here is that you'll be changing solutions......and right now you have been using Optifree with success.

Do bear in mind that when you have two lenses in the eye, you also increase (although small) the risk of a reaction when/if using various cleaning and condition solutions..

If you can, Id stick with what you have.....invest in a bigger ruck sack lol.

Or, you can take the hit and try something new.......and hope it doesnt cause any issues........

With the previous issues you have had with this eye, and the fact that your grafted eye is now back on track to healing...can you really afford for anything to go wrong?

* Just thought of an idea...you know those Caps which the Americans have...where you can put cola on each side of the cap whilst its on your head and theres plastic straws that come down into the mouth?...Get one of them and put the Optifree bottles on either side?....and get rid of the plastic tubes/straws!..... :-)

Sweet would go for the latest beer drinking innovation.

It is a strap on beer gut which is filled with beer and a straw tucked away for those eillicit drinking sessions.

Will start the rumours when she is at work, everyone will think she is pregnant

Congratulations Sweet :D

On a sensible note, if you have a locker at work do as I do. My locker has exactly the same solutions I have at work.

What I carry round is a small set of cheaper solutions which surfice in emergencies.

Hehe nice thoughts there guys!

Yes i do have a locker at work, but didn't really want to open so many different solutions if i hardly ever use them! I haven't had any reactions to lenses or solutions to date, so am thinking of just going ahead and trying one. Just thought i'd ask if anyone had one they could recommend, because as with every other solution there are so many!

Didn't really think it would matter with piggy backing but i might wait until i am seen again in Moorfields in June and ask their advice. Just not sure why a maufacturer would supply a solution in just one large bottle! LOL!!

Ok, thanks, Sweet X x X
