Twin? - double trouble?

Postby Tina Sweetland » Sun 23 Apr 2006 2:30 pm

Was reading on "confess your sins" and weird so see twin stories.....I also have a twin...what fun...absolutley great for totally ignoring people...(they then panic and assume that your the other one...this doens't work if the other twin is the opposite sex!)...my twin also has poor eyesight but NOT KC?...anyone else got a twin with the same eye complaint?

I have identical twin sisters....and they have done similar things and worse when growing up!...And what I found funny during childhood was that I was the only one who could tell them apart!

But the swapping classes, pretending to be one anotehr to get out of classes, and inter changing for Hockey, Netball, etc was all part and parcel for them!
KC is about facing the challenges it creates rather than accepting the problems it generates -

Tina

We know a great many pairs of twins. Sometimes their mothers have brought them up to express their individuality, and sometimes they have been brought up to stress their identity.

In my experience they have played with their similarities when it has suited them, and emphasized their differences when this has seemed sensible.

Interestingly, I do know one man who has Keratoconus, but his twin shows no sign of the condition.

LOL! Twins are great i think! I grew up and went to a twins club started by my mother. We had about twenty sets of twins and i sitll keep in touch with some of them today.

My twin sister does have KC though about 6-7 years behind me. She does get dam annoyed though when she has a problem or needs new treatment, as i can honestly say oh yea?!! Been there, done that, got the T-shirt!!!!!!! LOL!! Hehe kinda like a i told you so thing!!!

Being older than her by a WHOLE nine minutes and three seconds just for the record, doesn't help her either but i love to make sure she knows it!!!!!!!!   :P

How weird?...I just assumed that my twin sister wouldn't get KC....now I'm not so sure....I won't break the news to her yet.....always useful having something up your sleeve...and she might stay lucky......SHE's a whole 2 mins older than me....but I should have been first!..(but mum had to have a c-cut and so SHE was first.....) !!!not that I an concerned about it (as you can tell!)....we try to be different but every now and again realise that we've bought the same thing, or been to the same place.....weird?

Yep we are identical. But I have had my condition for 25 years and she can still wear glasses......I think I must have rubbed my eyes too much as a child....so maybe she won't get it...i think from looking at others on the site that I must have quite minor KC...just weird that I have it and she doesn't......still always trying to be different/indiviual...and I am!...do yuo find you occasionally have done the same thing?..for our 18th..we bought each other the same necklace from the same shop (and there were 3 in close proximity)...but she was mad because I paid a pound less for hers!!!!!

Amazing how many of us are twins! Mine is 7 minutes younger than my 58 years but luckily for him he has never shown any KC symptoms. Only fair when I got all the looks and the brains !! ( joke )
He is (thankfully) not identical so maybe thats why .......................

We try really hard to look different....and then find we had our hair cut the same or bought the same clothes...real pain!
As a twin you kinda forget and so people are always surprised when they find out. Twins are quite common really out there.....I just get mad when I bought an identical present in a different colour...as kids I always wore pink and my sister wore blue (so we could be told apart) hence I really can't stand pink..and as for the oldest always getting first choice.....oooooohhhh that REALLY drove (and still does) me mad!
