Can I put my computer next in line for the hammer treatment after you've finished with the video player? :D

Noooooooo - the JSPCC (John's Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Computers) won't be happy!

Put the hammer away Vic, or the apostrophes get it :)

Ah but you see the apostrophes already have their own protection society *calls for backup* Threatening the apostrophes means war!! And anyway, it was Lou brandishing the hammer, I was merely providing another victim

The computer deserves it though - it's over ten years old and runs off Windows 98 and the computer tower thingy is actually 3ft tall. It won't run anything that could be perceived as even remotely modern - so really, we're being cruel to be kind and putting it out of its misery!

Vic

Elderly computers are a problem. They won't run the software you want. They take up too much space. They are slow. You can't sell them and neither can you trade them in.

Hammer sounds good to me.

But, I'd wait until I had a nice new Mac before I handed my old tower to Lou.

Ok Vic, I think that in the circumstances I'll have to agree to a lethal injection, followed by a sedate funeral.

But I'd agree with Andrew to get some sort of replacement first.

Yes, I think we'd have to bring the hammer to the computer seeing as it's too big to lift

It's at least 10 years old - Andrew, I was given it by a couple from my church 4 years ago partly because I didn't have one at all at that point and Win98 is just about better than nothing, and partly because no-one would buy it / trade it, and it was the only means they had of getting rid of it!

A nice new mac... *dreams*

I voted for Star Trek, only the original series tho'. Scotty, RIP James Doohan, was my hero and I just loved Dr McCoy, sadly also no longer with us. Babylon 5 was also very good. I do enjoy the new Dr Who but my favourite was Tom Baker, I met him and the Brigadier at the 30th anniversary do at Longleat. Quantum Leap wasn't bad either Scott Bakula was much better in that.

I enjoy ER, Casualty, Holby City and House. My favourite US cop show has to be Cagney and Lacey and the best UK one is Morse.

Well I guess that's my list done.
