Red, White and Blue

Postby Tina Sweetland » Fri 21 Apr 2006 8:23 pm

Did anyone do anything for the Queens significant birthday? I made a batch of red, white and blue cakes and took them to work. on the understanding that today we would wear something red, white or blue..anyway the cakes were bright blue, white and red...really good food dye...all was going well until the guys got the munchies...suddenly not only did people have blue and red tongues...but teeth...lips...suddenly the giggling started and we had a really silly half hour.
It was such a nice end to a busy week...might do purple next week...or maybe black?

LMAO!! That sounds like loads of fun!! We had a pink and red party in work for Valentines night and that was great as well as all of our food had to be in those colours! Loads of strawberries, pink cakes and icing!

Party themes with designated colours are always great, hehe though it sounds like yours was very messy!!!! :P

Yes it was such a laugh...I think they didn't realise I could bake..and then the icing was so bright....made them all hyper....and white cakes were more difficult...cos just plain icing sugar was boring...so I did rice crispy cakes covered in white belgian chocolate...yum....see you're originally from Wales as well...?

Let them eat cake!

We had cakes in work. being an Irish girl (living in wales) I jokingly kicked up a fuss about it and was going to protest ... but that would mean i wouldn't be allowed have a cake.

What a dilema LOL

Then one of the guys said that the cakes were actually for a dual celebration. The charity I work for had just been given a very large donation from one wealthy individual.

So i tucked in :o)

Tina, yes i am from Wales, have lived in London for almost two years. I came to work in 'A & E' as i didn't want to go to the Heath hospital in Cardiff. I'm from Pontypridd near Cardiff, though originally from Cwmbach Aberdare, where there are still loads of Sweets!!! LOL!! 8)

It is nice to go home and see everyone, but i do miss how easy it is to live in London and get around without a car!!

What part are you from?

I live in Newport - have been there since July 2000.

Before that I was in Kent for a year and before that - home on the range...

I lived right up in North Wales...just in the border...left of Chester in a place called Connah's Quay. We still have friends in mid wales ...Dollegellau (on the coast) so we do get up there when we can. And I occasionally have conferences in Chester..so I tend to book off an extra couple of days and see my friends/family.... :)
