Yes I do like some SciFi!

I don't however watch much TV - really. At the moment I watch Dr Who, F1 racing and some footy. Though Bleak House was excellent - SWMBO made me watch that - and a good choice it was too.

Like many here I grew up on a diet of Dr Who and Blakes 7.

I just really do not like the modern Star Trek as it got itself far too politically correct and lost the fun. DS9 was Corrie in space - and I don't like Corrie either.

Of modern TV SciFi, Babylon was enjoyable but I havent seen it in years (a friend has loaned me the whole lot - so thats the next couple weeks sorted out), the new BSG is superb (can't wait for series 3 - that is going to be fun), and the new Dr Who - is definately revitalised, well funded and made by people who grew up on it in the 70s and so love the programme - they are doing a good job of it. Stargate I just cannot get into - I watched most of the 1st series and just kept getting reminded of The Time Tunnel.

Anyway best stuff I have seen on TV hmmmm:

Edge of Darkness
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Smileys People
and the bits plugged above.

Yes, I'd put my hat in the ring for Babylon 5 too. Hadn't realised that Andreas K had died. That was a sad loss; G'Kar was wonderful. And he had to put up with those contact lenses too!

And of course, once B5 got going, DS9 started copying it, which made it a lot better and less soapy too!

And yes, Blake's Seven too. Vila was always my favourite character. Odd that I identified with the coward! :)

I can see the attraction of ER sweet, especially when George Clooney was in it.
Ok people, give me a CBC, chem, camera, lights action, hamburger.....chest tray, rib spreader..ok SPREAD 'EM!
Ok people, lets notify the OR, she says swaggering off jumping onto the trolley straddling the patient doing cardiac compressions whilst holding a defib paddle and zapping anyone I pass in the corridor. They're so macho.
I liked General Hospital because the chief surgeon looked like a reptile and the sisters wore hats you could go hangliding in. Casualty is great because they have the time to sort out your marriage problems AND your fracture! Love it. Although in terms of realism 'Cardiac Arrest' and 'Bodies' was grittily there, now I did like them. Keith Allen in Bodies was magnificent, he must have had fun doing that.

Anyone else notice that Star Trek is to gain an 11th film?

See Digital Spy for details...

Don't think it will work, myself!

It would only work with the Next Gen and Voyager crew now

As far as I can make out the only person from any Star trek tv show that is going to be in film 11 is Brent Spiner.

I'm not sure that Data is a strong enough character to make the film work around him. We'll see.
