am i not gonna have the driving liscence ?

hello , i m in south asia , here i have a liscence but i heard somewhere that in usa or in european countries u cant get the driviing liscence if u have KC in both eyes , i have sever KC in right and mild in left , i just put lens in one eye , but i think i will have to put lens in left eye as well in future . so i wanna know abt the liscence stuff , i really need the reply because i m planning to shift to a european country.

Welcome to the forum.

I think you may have been misinformed. In the UK the driving license is contingent on corrected vision of 6/12 +

So long as you can pass the eye test there should be no problem about your license, although you ought to notify the licensing authority and insurance company of your condition.

i have KC in both eyes and have been driving for 6 years with no problem. as Andrew said let the right people know and you should have no problem!

When hiring a car this week for my hoiday, I notified them of KC and they have classed it as if I am short sighted. As long as I drive with corrected vision that meets the driving standards of the country I am in, all is well.

Same appied to the US when I hired a car there a few years back.

I have driven in the United states. the woman at the hire desk seeed a little puzzled that I should even mention KC when I had lenses that gave me better than the statutory driving vision.

Thanxalot guys , i m really feeling happy now :)) I was really worried because I dont want people to feel pity on me although i can see 6/6 with lenses.
