When David tennant was a little boy he used to have a 'Tom Baker - Dr Who' scarf and hat that he wore everywhere. When he got the part, the man himself wrote to congratulate him. :D

I know his inspiration for the Hitch hikers Guide was first conceived when he was lying drunk in a field while hitch hiking round Europe.

Plus the radio, TV, book and film are only loosley based on each other.

The guide is the only trilogy in four parts.

More than that ... it is the only trilogy in four parts for which there is a fifth volume!

I thought my sides were going to split when I got to the end of the volume and Marvin looked through the telescope at God's last message to creation.

I think David Tennant is really going to be a Doctor for all the people. Rather like Peter Davison was and Tom Baker in his earlier days.

Odd though that the Doctor has had a Scots accent once (McCoy) and a Northern English accent once (Ecclestone) yet never a Welsh one! Considering that we now have a scottish actor playing the part filmed in Cardiff, it is odd that he's playing a Londoner!

We did come close to having a woman doctor when romanna (his female time-lord companion) was in for a while.
