That would need some research. I can confirm that, prior to being diagnosed, I did eat both chocolate, cake of various sorts and including chocolate cake.

We would need to find out if anybody who does not have keratoconus has ever eaten cake, but even if it was found that they had, all we would have is evidence that eating cake and chocolate was not a sufficient condition for KC.

then we would need some people with KC to volunteer to go without cake or chocolate to see if their condition improved. I should like to volunteer to be part of the control group: people with KC who eat choc and cake to compare withthose who abstain.

We might just get written up in a future book endorsed by the BMA

:D

oh you could be onto something there Sweet, so further to Andrew's idea we could have some of us eating certain brands, then others say on dark, others on milk, some on white, etc

sorry but i won't be volunteering to abstain from chocolate completely 8)

will let you know how my next appt goes thanks 5 weeks is the longest i've gone not seeing the optician since last July, the lens is still a bit uncomfortable but i've been following advice from members here, using systane, one lens at a time, reduce wear time etc and it does seem to be paying off slowly, so it is all starting to feel worthwhile :)

Gareth's got his appointment a week before me, thinking of you mate, and i always bear in mind on a bad eye day that lots of you on here suffer far more than i do and i feel quite humbled by the way you all keep going :)

i'm just reading through some of the chit-chat threads Gareth, they're so funny, you may see me there as well soon 8)

Carol

Your idea couldn't work as any variation could be explained as a result of gender. You see Science is a bit demanding!
