An MP requests help

Postby John Smith » Sun 26 Mar 2006 12:59 pm

At the AGM yesterday, it was revealed that Marian (the West Midlands regional co-ordinator) has been in touch with her MP about the cost of solutions for KC patients, and their non-availability on prescription.

He is so keen on this issue he has even joined the commons all-party committee for eye problems.

What he'd like us to compile is a list of the solutions which are needed to be available on prescription to KCers - because we can't see properly without them.

I'll start the ball rolling with the solutions I use. Could people please post their solutions so that we can generate a list?

Ta.

Amidose
Celluvisc
Miraflow

I will add

Bausch & Lomb saline
Mausch & Lomb protein remover
Systane
Cases for lenses which should be replaced regularly.

Basically we need to cover as many solutions as we can within reason. this is because some of us can only tolerate specific products. For me the Bausch & Lomb are the best.

The AMO range I know is good for others but not me.

This is something that always confuses me all these different solutions. I just used the SpecSavers all in one. Should i have done something different?

Maybe everyone could write or contact their MP, then there could be at least 10 that may try to raise the issue. !0 MP's is better than 1!

No, please don't write to your MP just yet. Marian's MP has that all planned... and he'll ask us to do just that when the timing is right.
