AGM follow up!

Postby Sweet » Sat 25 Mar 2006 8:50 pm

Hehe have noticed that some are already back here posting since the meeting earlier! Have been to the pub so my excuse is a social event and need for alcohol! But thought i would say a little something. :P

AGM went ok, nice to see so many people there! My Tuft talked through a very good seminar on KC, moreso on infections and lenses than the study but it was all very interesting! I now understand the whole theory of crosslinking properly.

The genetic study hasn't finished yet, they had results from 169 people so it is not due to be published anytime soon. They had ten sets of twins ?identical, it took a little persuasion to find out, but the results are not represented as figures yet so it is very hard to work anything out. It looks like there IS a genetic link but it is far too early to tell, and the environmental issues are very important in how things develop.

I guess that we will just have to watch this space and see what happens!

On the subject of the committee and raising funds i think a car sticker with the KC logo and website addy on it would be a great idea! Even though i don't have a car right now i would gladly put one up in my window!! Just a little suggestion!

Take care and hope everyone had a great time today, Sweet X x X

Hey Gareth,

You could put your Capri in, as you won numerous awards for it.

Although I think your right when you say there is enough talentent people to produce a calendar........

I am glad it went well, I only wish that I will be able to make the next one or or social meeting.

"Did you find John OK?"

Whats wrong with John?

Glad to hear it went well!.....When do they expect the study to have been finished and published? Is there any indicative information as to the results so far?

J-B

My Capri is quite rare, only 1 of 50 of its type in the world still running.

Posted pictures of it in thr Chit Chat

http://www.keratoconus-group.org.uk/for ... c&start=20

on page three, the car I sold to get the Capri is on page 4 of the postings.

Was racing the Capri in Germany a few weeks before I was told KC had ciome back and I should not be driving!!!

Drove the car the 300 miles to the Nurburgring to race, did a 100 mile endurance race and drove it all the way home again.
