Hiya guys as you may know I had a graft here in Birmingham 4 weeks ago and the grafted eye seems to be recovering as it should be and I stop using the ointment today and carry on with the drop in that eye 4 times a day until my next check in about 5-6 weeks.
However my other eye is causing concern. At the 3 week post graft stage ecently when I put my RGP lens in which is currently one which falls out a lot , after a full day that eye and the grafted one is puffed up and quite tired and sore so I have not put that lens in for about a week.
Is that others experiences?
at the moment the ungrafted eye feels so tired as it normally felt at the end of a day with the lens in pre graft and this is without having a lens in that eye. very confusing?
Is the graft causing it to malfunction as it and my brain is getting used to the grafted eye?
what are others post graft experiences of the other eye particularly those who used RGP's pre and post graft?
what are these ulcers all about Sweet/others and what are their symtoms?
OTHER EYE POST GRAFT ?

Mohamed,
What you describe is basically tierd eyes.
Sounds like the ungrafted eye is working hard while the graft heals. Possible once that eye is tierd, the grafted one is trying to help out but getting tierd quickly considering what it has been through.
Can not remember if I had tierdness in my ungrafted eye when first ahd the right done, 1989 seems so long ago now.
It is possible the brain is getting confused if it has gone so long not being able to see through the eye that now has the graft.
Ulcers are where the lens has basically rubbed the cornea raw, either through the lens fit being poor or being overworn. As you know the lens will move a bit to allow the tears to flow around it. Extreme soreness and I beleive vision change so that it looks like you are seing through a haze but the lens is clean.
When was your last hospital visit?
Will you be coming to the Birmingham group meeting in April? I hope to be there.

It should get better, but do bear in mind that the brain is currently trying to organise itself back into shape and using the grafted eye to some extent
I would give it a 4-6 week period.......

KC is about facing the challenges it creates rather than accepting the problems it generates -
