FED UP WITH KC AND REJECTIONS

Postby james mckinlay » Tue 14 Mar 2006 4:36 pm

I WAS AT MY CLINIC TODAY AND I HOPED MY REJECTION WOULD HAVE GONE BUT IT HASNT IVE NOW HAD 17 EPISODES OF REJECTION BUT THIS ONE HAS PUSHED ME TO THE LIMIT IVE HAD ENOUGH OF IT.

BUT FOR ALL YOU LUCKY ONES THAT NEED GRAFTS GO FOR IT BECAUSE THEY HELP A LOT OF PEOPLE AND CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

IVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY GRAFTS THAT THE OTHERS FROM THE LAST SCOTTISH MEETING KNOW ARE RARE

HOWEVER ITS NO LONGER A CASE OF FIGHTING ON WITH THE ISSUE ITS NOW BEYOND IT AND GETTING TO ME AND MAKING ME ILL.

BE THIS IS A CHEERY POST

James

We know that you have been through the mill, then back through again, and again. I have no concept of what it must be like to live through repeated rejection episodes, but like everybody else here I am behind you.

Is Ramaeshoffering to re-do your graft?

Always got you in our thoughts.

Yours aye

Andrew

I am not even going to attempt to say that I understand what you are going through...because I dont!....The only manner in which I can possibly understand the effect this can have is when I couldnt see for around 6-9 months before my graft..and that was Hell for me.

However, I do admire you! You have gone through this and been patient and have kept a strong mind!...and that in itself is a very strong character trait!.......I am sure many others would have just given up at the first hurdle and threw their toys out the pram! But YOU have gone through it! I can only assume that if you was a Boxer you would have been very successfull with that mindset!!!

Whilst I can understand that your visit earlier may have caused you to reflect on this whole drama and re-think......I admire the way you still have the spirit in you!

What is the current situ with the rejection episode? How well can you see from the other eye?

I am very sorry to hear that James.Have all these rejection episodes happened to the same graft or have you had that eye regrafted. How old is your graft(s)?

James,

I go along with what has been said so far.

I do admire you for still being positive regarding grafts. Must be hard to accept that what you are going through is far from the norm.

Inspiration for us all.

All the best.
Gareth

my graft in the left eye is 6 years old now all i see is shadows and light in it

the right is 3 years old and has maybe 50% vision

but my problem is with so many rejections the sutures had to be removed as they were affected by the rejections now im left with huge huge astigmatism and i need to deal with it.

i guess im just feeling sorry for myself justnow but i will use whatever fight i got left to beat it.

the tanks running out though lol

im determined cuz ive had a lot to deal with from the age of 14 onwards so i guess i grew up quick and developed a fighting spirit

but life is full of challenges its how we deal with them that makes us

What does the consultant say when they see you?.....Have they got any other avenues they can explore? Have you been through the immuno-suppresents?

James

That sounds like you have and are on them

Have they spoken to you about the Alphacor cornea?....Judging from what you have said, you would be a prime candidate for this...its essentially a artificial cornea.....I know of only One person personally who has this, and he has had to go through 13 re-grafts due to rejections............
