Well, when I had it they did hold the lids open with this plastic device..and prior to it.....I was abit concerned but ones the anesthetic kicks in..you cant feel a thing!

As far as competition?....I didnt know there was one! but if there is than I want to know what the prize is!!!

I think if this board was to turn into Post Count Heaven, I am sure many, including me, would probbaly stop posting, as then the quality of posts would generaly go down......and it would become more of a joke!..

Louise

Sad men?

You've got four eyes! Actually there is no competition, just that some of us have been around for ever! It seems that John's new programme is triggered to advance the forum 'age' of each user by adding an eye as various pre-set threhholds are crossed.

The diea of champion as a measure of longevity of forum life fits nicely into the classical notion!

As to Clockwork Orange being scary, I can remember it really spooking me when I saw it first in the cinema. I wonder if it would be as scary today? You'd hve to be seeing it for the first time.

Then I found the interaction between Olivier and Hoffman in Marathon Man quite disturbing. I had a wisdom tooth that was giving me trouble at the time.

I know Andrew, said tongue firmly in cheek, I'm pulling your legs!
Doesn't matter how many times I see Clockwork Orange that's the bit I can't stand, likewise the dental torture has me running out screaming!

Louise

If I were a cinema manager I think I'd pay you money to come to these films! somebody running screaming from the cinema would enhance the experinece for all the other paying customers.

Wouldn't work for Star Trek films, however scary the borg might seem. People would spot the incongruity of someone dressed in your borg helmet being upset by the nasty things they do with their assimilation tubules.

I went to some allegedly scary films when I couldn't see. the music and screams from the sound track told me when I was supposed to be afraid, but apart from some moments when I was startled by loud noises my inabiliuty to see what was happening kind of spoiled the moments.

And it would be worth your money because I have a Hammer Horror kind of scream, it's really effective! Actually I love horror films it's just those two scenes I can't handle.
I have fooled children with my costume that I am in it, and I did once stop the traffic in Manchester. At the hotel there was an airpilots conference and I stepped into the lobby in full gear and all these pilots [in uniforms] turned around and looked at me, so I said, "you can only fly in the air, whereas I can cross galaxies"

Speaking of flying, have you planned any more foreign trips where you will have an opportunity to scare the life out of psychiatrists and send them home to check their redundancy insurance?

It must be a bit of a threat for them when somebody talks back, and at a conference where they hoped to be told that they were doing the only thing possible to help alleviate human suffering.

:D keep up the good work

A Russian psychiatrist did suggest spanking his patients so I've decided to become a loony dominatrix where I kick the shit out of them and they pay me!!

Looks like you didn't need to fly away to foreign parts to stir things up.

Power to the people! (was that citizen smith?)
