I'm sure I speak for everyone on here when I say that it's nice to have you back. A little sweet is better than no sweet!

I'm so glad that your vision is improving again, and I'm sure that as the graft heals you'll see further improvement.

Sweet wrote:Went to my follow up today which wasn't so bad. I did have two lines with pinholes before most of the stitches got removed and i lost them, now i make three lines with pinholes. So while i gained a month of stress i also gained another line, which makes better news i think.

Eye pressure was fine and staining on my other eye is better so i don't need to go back for another three months unless i have any problems. Need to continue with FML drops four times a day and be careful with the rest of my stitches.Sweet

Phew! was (figuratively speaking) holding my breath. when my first lot of stitches came out my sight got worse. Now, with them all but a stubborn one that wouldn't move removed, I have excellent sight. but I knew what a worry it must have been for you and am so pleased to know that you got back your pre-suture removal improvement and more beside.

Way to go Sweet!

BTW .. good to hear from you again!

Hi Claire

Just a quick note to say hello.

Keep smiling :) and don't forget 'Rome wasn't built in a day' as they say!

Fingers crossed, with a little time all will settle down for you and hopefully be an improvement on your previous sight.

love

Susan
don't let the people that mean nothing to you get you down, because in the end they are worth nothing to you, they are just your obstacles in life to trip you up!

Thanks to everyone for all the replies :D Just wanted to say that no i wasn't expecting a private graft to be any different from an NHS graft was just really annoyed with me for having so many stitches removed at once. To me it felt like i had really ruined everything and wasted a hell of a lot of money, but this was nothing to do with my surgeon or after care. It took me a long time to decide on even having a graft and paying for it wasn't really the issue. When i thought that i had done something really wrong though it did hit me really bad. Just hoping that things will continue to settle down and i can forget about the stitches for a long time!! :P

Anyway ... i have finally found somewhere to live right opposite the river Thames where i do feel at home. :D To me though being in London it reminds me of Cardiff Bay and Swansea all in one so i do feel like i could make it a good home! Have signed the contract and will be moving out next Wednesday so until i am settled i may not be around for a little while. I will be jumping back in here though very soon!! Hehe am thinking of answerng some posts in a second as well! LOL you can't get rid of me THAT easily!!

Thinking of you all and hoping that your vision is good, love Sweet X x X

Claire

Did I understand you right; you live close to the Thames? Can you see the water from your new flat?

When I lived in Aberdeen we had a magnificent view of the harbour. In Glasgow we had an enclosed view of the houses opposite. In Port Glasgow (not the same place) we have a view of the Clyde Estuary. I really think that looking out at water has to be one of the mose relaxing, even spiritually calming experiences.

Good to hear from you again.

Yes i will do! I don't right now as i'm next to Hyde Park but my new place opens onto the waterfront so that i can eat breakfast and watch the boats go by!! Being a big water fan who feels much calmer by any water i am really excited now! :D

Am looking into doing some sailing as well as there is a watersports centre two minutes away! I used to go out with my family on a boat when i was a lot younger but this was engine driven so am really excited to be able to learn properly with lessons how to sail with a mast!! Hehe my surgeon will tell me that i still can't swim i know, but my answer to him is that i'm not intending on doing so, i'm planning on sailing ON the water not IN it!! :P

Am totally with you on the water thing and glad you find it as relaxing as i do!

LMAO!! I wish!! I'm going to be sharing with three girls so it is far from a palace, but ... it is going to be home and being by the water i am more than happy!! :D

Nursing is not such a badly paid job if you work the overtime, and extra agency shifts do come in handy although the government are trying to cut down on these. I do think though that nurses are not paid enough, but if you are genuine in your career that was never why you trained for it.

The career advisor in school tried really hard to put me off the idea telling me how much hard work it was and how underpaid nurses are, but i was adamant that i would be a nurse one day. Having wanted nothing else since the age of three i am very cliche in my profession but admit that i would do nothing else! :P
