The World Cup 2006

Postby jayuk » Sat 04 Feb 2006 11:00 am

I thought Id post something different today; but still stay in line with something that is going to affect all of us in some way! :-)

The World Cup!...Is anyone else looking forward to this? I have never been a possessed fan of Football but over the last 5 odd years its certainly got better in terms of the players, games and will and desire to win!

I think we (England) have a really good chance this time around; as long as we play as a team and not attempt to showboat and try and take limelight!....Individually we have some of the best players in the world!!...So Im certainly booking all my days off to watch the games!!

What a saddo!

Hubby supports Stoke (!), son is Man U no. 1 fan so I think I'll be watching most of the matches - even if only to get a glimpse of David Beckham! But will Sven put his heart and soul into it now he's leaving?

I didn't know we were in the world cup. Maybe we're not, but you are ... :D

Still, I enjoy the footie. I agree with Jay, England probably does have a fairly good shout this time round, but if I were a gambling man I'd not bet against Germany.

i love all live sport so i'll watch every single game of the world cup. i just got sky sports and i've watched loads so far. i think i have an adiction to it.

i think england will reach the semis. don't think we'll win tho. it's more psychological and tactical why i don't think we'll win it, we have a very good team though. brazil, argentina, germany, italy or france will win it i expect.

Tim

If you predict a win for every team in the World Cup, you are sure to be right.

Well, let me put my four-pence worth in. If England do not win, and Germany is eliminated, I'd really like to see Tonga in the finals.

Will it happen? Probably not. But next time Scotland goes to the World Cup, watch out! :D

Ireland sure will be missed this year (but then the Euro's are coming up! hehe more football! ) hopefully Staunton will do something preductive with the team! Dunno bout England's chances, to be beaten in Windsor in September by NI............................1-0  (just kidding!)
