Hi All

I was wondering for those that cannot attend the meetings down south but would like to get together with other KC'ers if you would fancy a meeting together locally!?

I live in Blackburn, Lancashire and there isnt't really a local forum for getting together round here that I know of.

If anybody that lives in this area fancies getting together let me know.

Thanks Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Thanks very much for suggesting this. I was talking only this afternoon about suggesting that social meetings could be organised in the North.

We certainly had a good time at the last London social, and I'm sure members in other parts of the country could also get together for a beer/glass of wine/coffee and a chinwag.

If anyone else wants to consider arranging a social in the East or South-West please feel free to do so. I'll help in any way I can.
John

Next time your are seeing the consultant and in the waiting room, just stand up and shout "Hands up everyone with KC?"

At my last visit I did theis a bit more subtly, but there were six of us all from within 15 miles of the Hospital in Coventry.

I only expected one or two!

Feel KC is not so exclusive but rather common :D

Hi Gareth

I have thought about this the last few times I have been but most of the people in the waiting room have been elderly women asleep in wheelchairs! I'll see what the room is like when I go on 13th.

Calling KCers in Lancashire

Postby Kathy Hobkirk » Tue 21 Feb 2006 6:43 pm

It was a good suggestion Gareth but when I went to the eye clinic last week I was the only person there at 9am so I could really stand up and shout!!

Its ashame that there aren't more members in this area, it sounded like I missed a good do at the London Social!!

Hi Kathy

I live in Bolton, which is not that far away from Balckburn.

I must be the odd one at the hospital appointments, I am sure my notes have a really big black cross on and I have asked my optom about this however, he only laughed. I seem to attend at least every 3 months if not more often and no one else is EVER in the waiting room. Spooky or what especially when I am told when booking the appointments just how busy they are in the clinic I attend!

best wishes

Susan

KC in the North West

Postby Tammy Downsworth » Wed 01 Mar 2006 1:33 pm

Sue, hi it's me again back out of my shell.

So there are more than you and me in the north West of England then...

I will try next time I go to find out how many others in the clinic have KC.

Perhaps we could converge at the most convenient rail station oop here. What's Bolton's like?, I always like Preston..... but maybe that was coz as a kid you knew you were on the way to Blackpool for a day out....

:)

Hi Tam

Nice to hear from you (and of course everyone else).

I am still pretty stressed at work however, that of course is a different story.

We should meet up soon, maybe oop north we can have our own little get togethers .......... I am sure many of us will have plenty in common, even if it is only trials and tribulations of overcoming day to day challenges.

best wishes to all

Susan
