Shortage of saline!

Postby Louise Pembroke » Thu 26 Jan 2006 1:54 pm

I'm having difficulties in obtaining bottles of squeezy saline, I've tried Boots, Superdrug, local opticians. Superdrug said that they were having difficulties in getting it from the manufacturers. Anyone else having this problem?

Louise

Have you ever ordered off the net.

It's generally cheaper, very quick and delivered to your door.

The only thing I find is you have to be prepared to buy in a little bulk (if there is such a thing) to allow for delivery charges.

These guys http://www.postoptics.co.uk/ are excellent.

L

the Internet as suggested by Paul is probably the least expensive way of buying saline. In an emergency I used to buy from Tesco.

Ok, I'll have to be silly now because I can only be sensible for so long anyhow. Saline purchased from the Borg will contain nanoprobes and assimilate your eyeballs!
Saline from Dr Who will come with it's own sink plunger which might have a blue light and exterminate you! [more worrying than rejection]

Louise,

My local BOOTS outside Rugby always has my Bauch and Lomb saline.

Are there differneces between saline solutions?

Yes, there are those with preservatives and preservative free, apart from that they are pretty similar.

I have a reaction to the salines with preservatives and to many of the preservative free. The Bauch and Lomb one is the cheapest and most freely available saline that my eyes will tolerate.

All my orders placed with postoptics before mid day ahve always arrived next day with their standard delivery. Orders I have placed after midday usually arrive about 36 hours later.

Their service is excellent.
