Aww, That is great news.

Just when one begins to lose faith in humankind, along comes one of lifes living angels.

I'm delighted you got it back. Now just go and rest that bump of yours.

Hhmm i have one, well actually i have two  They are sitting in my bedside cabinet, not much use there i know :(

The thing is it was in the middle of the day in a crowd of people on a busy main road, one street from the police station! So i'm not so sure if it would have helped. Maybe that is why they do it then as there are more people around to confuse things and it will help to lose them when they run.

Who knows?

I have a dear friend who lives in one of those Mid Western towns in the United States where a crime wave is when two people are booked for double-parking in a week.

When she goes to Chicago (which is another of my favourite cities) she is armed to the teeth, with personal alarm, pepper spray etc in her bag.

Her business completed one day, she slipped along to Michigan Avenue to do some shopping. A tickle in her nose led her to open her bag and rummage for a tissue. Finding one she put her bag on the sidewalk (in the States they call a made-up road a 'pavement') and stood up to blow her nose.

This little manoeuvre accomplished she looked for her bag, but it had vanished into the crowd. She was hopping mad, not because somebody was away with her keys and wallet (she never put those in her bag, but had them in her coat pocket). A felon had stolen her used tissues, her personal alarm, her pepper spray and her 'emergency kit', comprising a pair of scissors and some eye drops.

Now there was one disappointed opportunist.

:D

Gareth, I am sitting at my computer having a little chuckle at the thought of my friend waging war on street crime by infecting thieves through the medium of her used tissues.

I daresay that the common cold can be passed on that way, but I am not sure how effective it would be as a cure for the ills of big city street crime! :D

When I was burgled a few years ago, I was rather amused (!) to think the burglars had stolen a half-tube of laxatives (!!) in the form of a soluble white powder.
Great to thin of them selling this off to local pedllers as an illegal mind-altering substance.
NOt to mention the results if they just took it themselves.

Unfortunately, a while later a found the stuff again, in a place I'd forgotten i'd put it.
Apart from that, the greatest single result of their haul was 40 Polish zlotys!

Rosemary that was really funny and i hope they took them thinking it was something fun and illegal! LOL!!

Am happy to be reunited with my phone, was so dam lost without it! Was funny that a few days ago i was reading something in the Metro paper about a public survey saying how stressful people scored losing their mobile, and boy could i relate to that! It is said to be the case because people relate it to family and friends and their way of keeping in touch. I know i was more concerned that i had lost seven years of contacts and had little chance of getting half of them back.

On that note a few here have pm'd me to talk about a device that can store the details from your SIM card, does anyone know about this and where i can get it from?

I know that this is slightly off topic but it would be useful for those who need to keep a track of numbers and can't see well enough to write them all down! Or like me you are just being lazy hehe, as i was adamant i would do just that but it all seems to have gone by the wayside! Hhmm

Thanks for all your support, Sweet X x X
