I used to find that taking my lenses out on the plane was pretty easy. I used a universal fluid for soaking/cleaning/wetting so no probs with several different solutions.

for a time I had to travel fairly regularly between glasgow and O'Hare. In departure lounges I used to see several other folks fiddling with lenses, so I guess I was never alone!

I have just returned from a trip to Florida. I had assistance at both ends, at Gatwick because it was my first 'solo' flight and I had got myself into a bit of a nervous state and then at Orlando because I wasn't sure how my eyes were going to be having taken my lenses out and then putting them back in again while on the plane. I took all my contact lens stuff in my hand luggage in a washbag and kept it in the rack on the back of the seat in front of me. I took them out after about three hours and then left them out for about two and a half hours before putting them back in. I did the whole thing in my seat although I must admit putting a scleral filled with saline back in the eye isn't exactly easy in a confined space. I did the same on the flight home. I was lucky in that going out I had a row to myself and on the return journey my husband was in the seat next to me I can't help wondering what a stranger would have said if they had been there what with the towel and bottles of stuff!

Enjoy your flight and don't be afraid to ask for assistance if you think you may need it.

Lesley.
Live long and Prosper.

I use Boston solutions and have seen a new Boston all-in-one solution but I'm a bit apprehensive about using it without getting the ok from Moorfields.
