New Vacancy;

Wanted - someone to guide work force through the moral and spiritual troubles that face us in life.

Quoting the answer of 42 however will be unacceptable. :D

That sounds like a job for Andrew :D

As for the lipstick, well, you'll just have to wait (until the forthcoming social) and see!

And if the erstwhile director of SF can "do" Orac, I hope she can also imitate Zen and Slave - both voiced by the same artist - and K9 before his battered re-appearance in the spring.

(And, director of sillyness: that's battered as in "bashed about", not as in "deep fried with chips" (sillicon or otherwise) )

Louise

The original French for Kilt was la jupe ecossaise. (the Scottish skirt). l'Academie has now relented and allowed the invention of a new French word Le Kilt!

You see Scottish gentelemen have no need of their partners' clothes, so I'm afraid that those references in Gareth's posting have to do with English and Welsh people. :D

I rather think that John's lipsitick commetn was tagged onto a string that discussed the testing of cosmetics on animals where he floated the possibility that it was possible to live without wearing lipstick, and observed that he managed to get by without it!

Of course in the 17th and 18th centiuries it was very common for gentlemen of a certain distinction to wear all sorts of make-up, and for members of the House of Lords to think of a properly made up face as a sine qua non for taking their place in the legislature.

If 42 can't be the answer, what was the question?

Andrew & Gareth, if you're too sensible I'll have to offer you a crash course in silliness. It will involve placing a hanky on your head and saying 'wibble'.
Thanks for the origins of 'kilt', I once had a blackwatch kilt, lovely colours. I know John talked about lippy in relation to animal testing, but don't tell everyone that! We can tease him unmercifully and besides, by the sounds of it, John's getting into it now!
John, thankyou, I didn't know the same person did all those voices. Ahh, K9, I adore K9, I have a radio controlled Dalek, but if they come out with a K9 too, then my life will be complete.

Okay Mme la Directeuse,

I will take the job offered if my title can be Monsieur l'Évêque (French for the Bishop). We don't have them, so its the closest I will ever get, and by using it I can't be accused of usurping the place of anyone else in my corner of the Kingdom.

Do I tie four knots in this handkerchief or just the three. How long do I have to say 'wibble'?

Andrew, you tie 4 knots and have to shove knitting needles up your nose, then say 'wiible' until you no longer feel remotely sensible. That's exercise 1.
The Bishop eh? Do you remember the Python sketch 'The Bishop'?! I now keep envisaging you as that!

Oh yes. I belong to the generation that can quote entire Python sketches ... although nobody ever expects the Spanish Inquisition.

Spanish inquistion or not! Why do i get a feeling that as a first aider i am going to spend my time retrieving knitting needles from strange orifices!! And yes before anyone says or thinks anything, i HAVE seen it all before!  John you don't need to wear your lippy 24/7 you know!!

Someone mentioned a dental plan hehe sounds good if we are going to be eating chocolate cake all day!!

Hhmm so we now have a president in Gareth and a moderator in John, along with Jayuk searching for success, Paul in IT, Andrew in sarcastic comments, lots of gardeners and handymen and Louise being silly!! Hhmm did i miss anyone?!! :?:

Am still intrigued though, has ANYONE here decided what job we are doing?!!!! Hehehe, am open to suggestions (if they are clean!) as we won't be going anywhere without a business plan!! Hhmm any bright ideas!
