I know what you mean about the red tape here J. With mental health research, much stuff is easier in places like the Netherlands because they don't have to jump through the same kind of ethics committees that we do. Then there's the cost of Mexico/US. I also suspect surgeons here might also be more cautious too?

Cautious yes...with the "wheres there a blame theres a claim" environment I can appreciate that.......but as with all new treatments...I think the risks and all need to be presented to the Patient and then they make the decision with help/aid...

its a funni old game!...a game of two halves! :-

Well I find the blame-claim hard to understand here, given medical negligence is notoriously hard to get to court in this country, whereas I can understand it more for the US!
Yes we do need all the info put before us in order to make an informed consent, I wouldn't rush into a new procedure myself

Update

I feel like I am back to square 1!!

Went back to my opticians, cos he had found some lenses, but before he tried them I told him that I have got the pain back in my eyes again. He had a look and said the inflamation has come back!! I thought it had all gone away with the steriods and that I might be able to get back to normal!! Seems like no such luck!

I rang the eye clinic and spoke to the sister in charge and told her that it seems to have come back. She rang me back after speaking to the dr on call and told me to up my meds again and they have brought my checkup forward.

I'm just fed up now, this has been going on for 6 months.

Sorry just needed to vent my frustration!!

Kathy

No apology needed Kathy, really sorry you are experiencing protracted difficulties and hope it settles soon.
