Hehehe Emma sorry i don't know anything at all about that but i think that in your predicament it sounds only fair for you to 'borrow' the notes!! LOL!! I mean it's not like looking over someones shoulder in an exam is it! LOL!

Take it easy, give your eyes a break and hopefully you will be able to put your lenses back in soon :)

There were two covenanting revolutions (rebellions) in Scotland. Both The first was more spiritual than political, the second was, well, different.

If you are hving as much trouble with your lenses, go back to the clinic that prescribed them. Your eyes are important, let them see what you are living with and ask if there is anything they can do. It may be that your lenses no longer fit properly, or that you could do better with different lens material.

If your contact lens clinic is out of town, go to the eye dept casualty, explain that you hve KC and that your contact lenses are causing pain.

Meantime, there are lots of web pages with stuff about the Covenants. Even the BBC has one

well, i put the lenses in 2day and so far so good, a bit sore but i reckon i can get a cpla good hours out of them. hopefully they'l improve and keep good 4 the exam 2mro. the good thing is im allowed to take rest breaks during the exam if need be. Have a good bit done, i'm aiming for a first so hopefully i'll get it.

I'm not quite sure where the nearest A&E eye department is in NI, my specialist is based in Derry so its a bit far away 2 travel at the moment. I'm gna c how long i can manage b4 annoying them!

Emma

Are these your degree finals? If so please go to see your GP, or your University Medical specialist. Explain that you have KC and that you are having trouble with your lenses.

Make sure that your department or faculty knows, and that they see a note from a Doctor. This will enable them to be aware of your recent difficulties when finalizing your grade.

I worked as a University Chaplain for many years, and assure you that what I suggest is NOT cheating and it is NOT special pleading. It is simply an application of common sense.

But if you wait until after the event, an appeal may be more difficult than advance warning would have been.

All the best

Andrew

At my uni they were called Personal Mitigating Circumstances forms (PMCs). They could not directly improve a mark that may have been negatively impacted by unfortunate circumstances, but merely serve to inform the panel to consider them when grading.

Always best to keep them informed, even though they did seem a bit baffled by KC. I got a letter from the hospital to help explain. Also, they were very good about me breaking off my studies to undergo a graft and returning when I felt ready.

I think our education leaflet would certainly be helpful here, as it explains to the layman the difficulties that the student may experience.
