I'd carry on with the protein remover. Whether you blink properly or not you are going to have a build up of protein on an RGP lens. Routine cleaning every time you take your lens out may not prevent the build up of protein.
by the way, what solutions do you use?
Be careful to follow the instructions: rinse properly etc.
The blinking suggestion may help you in between times!

I use protein cleaner every week, partly because that is what the instructions protein remover I use say, and secondly, my lenses do feel more comfortable after a good clean.
Eye lubricant drops help too, I do not feel that I have dry eyes, but using lubricant drops has helped loads.

well I do use some lubricating drops blinx unidose and ciba aquify[can only buy that at my opticiens] I don't use them every day as I can't afford it[i am 550 euro in debt due to being a compusive overspender]
I tend to use total care cleaner and disinfecant and boots saline and protein removal tablets[i used to use bosch and lomb but they are not around any more..my opticien didn't really give any recomendations about solutions but did give me sauflon hard contact solutions[trial packs] when I was having irritation due to my rgps...but you can't buy sauflon solutions for rgps
sorru about that...as for the exagerated blinks...i be afraid to try that in case it makes the lenses pop out...[only happened me once in the three -4 months I have being piggybacking but at one stage before piggybacking I couldn;t last half an hour without the lenses popping out

Is it just soft lenses you use the protein tabs for? I don't do this with my lens [rigid corneal].
I once put my lens in after cleaning it, forgetting to rinse off the cleaner. It hurt like a chemical burn, so I grabbed the hypromellose and just flushed out continuously [getting through 2 bottles]. Did the trick, and I won't ever make that mistake again!

I think the Boots lens stuff is actually made by Bauch and Lomb.
I still use Bauch and lomb from http://www.postoptics.co.uk as it works out cheaper in bulk than getting Boots own stuff.

Bausch & Lomb used to produce lens solutions called 'Boston' and 'Bausch & Lomb Elite'.
Recently they have streamlined their product range and rebranded many of the ones left, so the lens care solutions are 'Boston Advance Formula'.
So Bausch & Lomb are now the trading company and all that remains of the Boston name is as a brand name.
Have not experienced a change in product quality though for the better or worse.
