Hi guys, I'm a 19 year old in India.
My power has always been bad from the time I can remember, when I was ten, I had -6 in both the eyes. By 17 my power was -8 in the left side and -10 in the right side.
Well to cut a long story short, I started developing KC 2 years ago, and thinking it was merely a case of astigmatism, put off doctors visit for a while. Bad move - I developed Acute Hydrops 2 months later and rushed to the hospital. It settled after a while , leaving a corneal scar that affected my vision. My KC eye is my left eye. After 1 year, I still can't read any text whatsoever in that eye. I've been surviving with my left eye, which btw is a -10. I'm in a very delicate situation. Anyways finally went to a doctor for the KC, and I've been advised to go for contact lens fittings in 2 days. I'm not very enthusiastic about it, but hey - anything is better than a transplant.
I'm still very nervous and very scared, I'm not even 20 and my eyes are in terrible condition.
Just been diagnosed with KC - 19 year old.

Hi Starlight and welcome to the forum!
I'm sure you'll find contacts give you much better vision than glasses, and there are lots of different types to choose from. They may take a bit of practice at first, but you'll be a pro in no time
Good luck, and let us know how you get on

Hi guys,
I'm back from the lens fitting and KC test. Not much good news
Have been told my Cornea is too steep for RGP and soft lens. My cornea microns are 330 in the KC eyes, which is super low, and i have a lot of scarring from my previous hydrops.
Consultant has advised either scleral lens (at 1000 dollars per eye its a little too steep) or a corneal graft.
