Follow up today

Postby Sweet » Fri 03 Feb 2006 12:13 pm

Have a follow up appointment today two months early as i had so many stitches removed last time. Am not in pain which i kinda guess is a good sign although i didn't feel anything with the first loose stitch but i definately did with five!

Am not seeing my surgeon as he is away for a while but someone else, although she did look at my eye with him last time i was there so that she knows what is happening.

Am just not wanting to go back today as every time i go i get more bad news. :( Guess i should though just needing to get my act together.

Your feelings are perfectly understandable Sweet, you're allowed to feel apprehensive or sad, you don't have to be brave all the time. Let us know how you get on, hoping you get better news this time

Very best of luck Sweet! And there'll be lots of us to give you reassuring hugs at the social on 12th (and buy you a few drinks!)

Anne,

Make sure Sweet stays on the soft drinks. Last time she had a few sherbets too many, she could not remember what she had done

Last think we want is to upset the graft anymore :D

Hehe point taken there! I am staying WELL clear of wine and too many alcoholic drinks!! LOL!! :D

Went to follow up today though it took a lot of convincing for her to look at me. All i was asking was please don't remove any more stitches as i don't think this graft can survive anything else and as i'm not in pain lets leave well alone! LOL!!

I did eventually let her take a look though and she doesn't think it is too bad although there are two that look a little superficial and may need removing next time. It was noted where i had the last one removed at Moorfields which was probably due to it being pulled more because of the others being removed but that is all ok.

So have booked another appointment in two weeks and because she felt so sorry for me as i was so scared to be seen she waived the £110 charge which i thought was very decent of her!

So back to being dam good, no lifting no acrobatic movements (loads when drunk i'm sure!) and no poking myself in the eye when under the influence!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the support, Sweet X x X

I'm glad it went better than expected and yes that was nice of her about the fee. Sweet think about taking a mate with you if anyone can be free for your next appt, I know how stressful this can be. Now relax and have a glass of wine [without poking yourself in the eye!]

I'm pleased it went better than you thought.

I know at times it can be hard to remain positive but try to keep your chin up. At least with the £110 waived you'll have plenty of beer money come the 12th

I am so glad that things turned out well for you; hopefully some of your confidence is now returning.

Bit of a result too - saving £110. Just think how much pink stuff you could buy with that for the new flat! 8)

Keep your chin up!

John

Hmmm. So what are you after, Chris? Beers from Sweet or hugs from Anne?
