Annual checkup

Postby Paul Morgan » Wed 21 Sep 2005 11:40 am

Going for my annual checkup on Friday.

Hoping for nothing significant to report, but this has been my first year in RGP's....so just hoping you'd all wish me luck.

(And it's gone a bit quiet on here!!!) :D

Best news

Postby Paul Morgan » Mon 26 Sep 2005 5:46 pm

This is pretty unimportant in the scheme of things I guess, but I am over the bloody moon.

Had my annual checkup and found there was no change from last year.

Managing with RGP's fine, this is the first time there's been no change...could that be as far as it goes for me?? I sincerely hope so. if it is I should mange OK.

Forgive me for my joy, I know some of you are having a really tough time - but this for me is the best news!!! :D

Hi Paul,

Why worry about being over the moon? I certainly would be over the moon if I were in your position, come to that I would be over the moon if I could go more than six months without a change.

Good on yer, hope in 12 months time your KC is the same next year or not as bad.

We are all allowed to dream aren't we.

Regards

Gareth

Absolutely, let's celebrate that - good news is seldom reported, on here as well as on the BBC!

Paul :o

Glad to hear some good news as well! Am tihnking here, i'm sure i am overdue for an annual check up at Moorfields as well, although with the number of optometrists i have seen the last eight months i guess it doesn't really matter!

I'm glad that you find RGPs ok, i managed for thirteen years before i had any real problems, and even now i still find them better than anything else. Vision wise i haven't found anything close. Am now trying a piggy back system with a soft lens underneath so will let you know how it goes, then maybe if you have any problems you can try that way too.

Take care, and thanks for sharing!!

Great news to hear your KC has not been progessing greatly for the past year. My vision has deteriorated from 6/60 to 1/60 in the period of a few weeks.

Do you rub your eyes at all? Just wanted to ask as in some cases at may aggrevate KC.

Did lots as a child (and still do now sometimes) don't know why really, just makes them feel better....well aware I shouldn't!

My Dad is a terrible eye rubber, squelching away (yuk) but he has perfect sight.....s'pose life's not fair!
