When I squint in graft eye my vision goes quite clear?

Postby Adam1234 » Sat 28 Jan 2012 9:20 pm

Does anyone now why when I squint in my operated eye my vision goes quite clear? It's obviously blurry when I'm not but I'm just curious as to why it does that?

Adam

It is really not a good idea to squint, it raises the IOP. BUT squinting does force your eye into a more regular shape, pulling your grafted cornea tight against the sutures, even for just a moment.

Well, actually.....

The other reason this might work is that by squinting you create a slit via your eyelids through which you see. This reduces the amount of stray light entering the eye and sharpens the image in the same way as looking through a pinhole. Technically, this effect is described as looking through a stenopaic slit.

It can also mean that vision would be quite sharp with a glasses prescription so this might be worth investigating.

It brings it into focus. I have KC in both eyes, left is worse than right. If i squint my right eye, it comes into perfect focus. However i can squint my left eye any which way i want, but it dosent come into any focus! Also another thing ive realised is when i place my index finger in front of my eyes and look through the shadow at the top, my vision comes into perfect focus in both eyes! Strange? Someone needs to create a contact lens from this invisible shadowy material! Anyone explain this?
