Hi there,
I was 15 years old when I was diagnosed with KC, I am now 33 and have been using contact lenses ever since.
Since I am from Brazil I buy my lenses over there and whenever I go there to visit my family I get my eyes checked and get the lenses cleaned for protein removal in the clinic rather then using the protein removal tablets.
The problem is that my lenses are driving me mad, specially the right one and I was wondering if clinics in London do this deep cleaning or is my only option to use the tablets?
My lenses are soft (made of silicone) I contacted one clinic and they wanted to register me, book me in, asked if I have prescription for the lenses and want to charge me £30 for the consultation to only then have the "specialist" to tell me if I need to get them cleaned. I am not bothered about the £30 since that is not a lot of money but I don't need anyone to tell me that I need to get them cleaned or not, I know they have to be cleaned. Also this clinic said it would take 2 days to do this job that in Brazil takes literally 5 minutes. I cannot be without the lenses for 2 days as my KC is quite advanced and I can't work or drive without the lenses. I am now using only the left one and that causes me a massive headache.
Please help! Any advice is much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. I wonder whether you might not be able to go into a high street optician just to ask to have your lenses cleaned?
