urgent oxysept

Postby cherishu2 » Mon 13 Jun 2005 1:37 pm

Hi . I am sensitive to the solutions for contacts. Oxysept 1+2 are the only ones i can use. I have tried loads of different ones. Even saline makes my eyes so sore i cant use it.
However i can no longer find any oxysept. ASda (wallmart) boots, and other leading supermarkets said they havent been able to getit from the warehouse. I am starting to panic now. What am i going to do. Is there anymorethat are good for very sensitve eyes?

Try postoptics.co.uk they are good for solutions

(and i dont have anything to do with them merely a customer)

Hmm are we talking the same thing or slight variation to AO Sept here? I know that one kinda disappeared in Wales for a while but then seemed to mrsteriously turn up again!! Maybe it was customers going into supermarkets and complaining! LOL!!

If you really cant find it, i'd go with the suggestions here and look for it online with someone who delivers.

I'm not good with saline either, though i use it in emergencies at work as as a nurse we have plenty of it! LOL!!

Oxysept 1&2 is the peroxide sytem like AO Sept but it is neutralised with a chemical neutraliser rather than the disc at the bottom of the pot.

I am afraid to tell you this but CIBA are discontinuing the 2 step system and as they make the sols under licence to a lot of poeple this is probably why you are finding it difficult to get. I got my last lot of 2 step from Superdrug - its their own stuff but the same as Oxysept. I am going to try the Sauflon Multi next as I get the same problems you do :)

Why are they discontinuing it? Market rules apply and because more people use disposables now they are not finding it economic to make - irritating but true!

Oh ok, thanks Lynn for that!

I have just never seen it but i do use AO Sept so i kinda thought it went along the same lines! Bit odd i know, but i did get told off for just using this, and so now i clean my lens before it goes in the pot! Pretty dam expensive though if you ask me to be using two systems, but hey what do i know? I only have to wear it!!
