Kerasoft ic appintment

Postby Gabriela Neal Gonzalez » Thu 18 Jun 2009 4:38 pm

Hi all, if there is anybody out there who is considering trying the kerasoft 3/ic lenses then I recommend you do it :) I had my first appointment with Lynn White yesterday and it went very well, the lenses were so comfortable. After being in RGPS for almost two years it felt nice to finally feel comfortable! Just thought I'd let you know, I'll keep you updated on my progress, and if anybody has any experiences with them that they'd like to share that would be great! :)
Gabriela.

Gabriela

That is really good news! A couple of people here have given very good reports of kerasoft 3, and it is good to know that your experience has been positive, also.

All the best

Andrew

Hi Gabriela

I've been using both the Kerasoft 3 and the Kerasoft IC lenses since December 2008. They are excellent and I've found the comfort to be amazing all day every day and so far (here's temting fete) no bad eye day.

No more protein removing tablets and the right lens is 4 months old and no signs of protein build up. RGP's get coated within a week and I could only manage RGP's for an uncomfortable 12 hours 5 days per week. I get the same quality of vison day and night and no more seeing the edge of the lens which I got at night with the RGP's.

Cleaning costs are down 25% and I am using fewer eye drops.

I had RGP's for 4 years and we are finding that my eyes are still demoulding from the RGP's which we felt were are good fit as far s KC and RGP's went. On the plus side we found that during this period the vison drop of was only a line or two so I was still legal to drive and after the second month we found that although the right steeper cornea is still flattening out, there has been no loss of vision. The lens fit isn't ideal but the optics of the lens and its design are behaving from my perspective like an RGP without the RGP problems of comfort.

When you get your lenses, putting them in and out is just the same as an RGP, they come out better if you use the RGP method. Another plus is that should the edge of the lens become damaged, I have found them so still be very comfortable and I wore one lens like this for just over a month before I got round to having a refit.

Right eye still has the Kerasoft 3 but I have some IC's to try when I have a moment. Currently got some developmental IC lenses for my left eye which I was forced to try after the contact lens fairy stole the the last one.

I hope you get on well with the lenses like everyone else I know that has tried them and are now consistent users of these lenses.

Please let us know how you get on with them.
Gareth
