I guess that lens intolerance can begin at any stage; after a few days, weeks, months, years or even decades.

Are you having difficulty?

I started wearing hybrid lenses last summer (around July time) and intially got good wear time out of the lenses. Around mid-end October i started having some problems in not being able to wear the lenses for as long, getting red eyes, etc which resulted in me being at the Opticians (CL fitter) having my eyes checked after them being very very bloodshot for two days when i had only had the lenses in for a short period on the saturday evening.
I then got referred upto the local eye causulty who said i had pitting/staining on my cornea (i was also told that i had developed KC in my right eye, which was the eye i was having problems with and dry eye in both) and told me to come back in 7-10 days. When i went back i was told not to wear my lenses for 3months to allow the pitting/staining to heal. Since returning to attempting to wear lensees i have only been able to wear my lenses for about 2-3 hours per day at most and i am just waiting on my appointment in 10 days time to be fitted for some different (SoClear Sceral) lenses.

I am fortunate that my KC is not very advanced in my right eye and when it isnt bloodshot from CL i can manage with glasses, though i have been told not to expect this to last much longer, and be prepared to only have good sight from CL  I am now looking at going private for CXL to try and stabalise my KC and Intacts to hopefully improve the comfort of CL. Only trouble is the cost of travel and accomodation from where i am to the good centres who do CXL.
I am due at the hospital this friday (they better not change my appointment again  ) when i hope to establish how quickly my KC is progressing in the right eye, and how advanced my KC is in the left eye.
