When I was five I had an illness called Steven Johnsons Syndrome, which left me with very limited vision. The affect of the illness has severly damaged my corenas, leaving me with almost no vision in one eye and a little bit in the other. I now ware Scleral Lenses which have made a huge difference to the vision in my good eye and make both eye more comfortable. When I was younger I was told that It would be worth trying a cornea transplant as the surface of my eye is so badly damaged that it was almost certainly reject it. There is another proceedure call OOKP, which involves using a tooth to create a replacement cornea, but this is complexed and although I have been told I am suitable, I don't really know enough about this and would really like to speak to someone who has had this done.
Can anyone offer me any advice or tell me how I may be able to contact someone who has had this operation?
If you can help, please can you email me at bartondan1@aol.com
Regards
Daniel
