Want to share something with you all

Hey everyone.

As some may remember I had an episode (my first) of acute corneal hydrops in my right eye. It was a pretty serious case. Now, several months down the line, i'm waiting for a consultation regarding a corneal graft. I'm into photography, and today i took a picture of my right eye. I'm very happy with how it turned out. Some of the fluid can still be seen (scarring?). I wanted to share it with everyone, as I think it's quite beautiful (not to sound vein).

Yes, that really is a beautiful image. Nice lighting! I'm sure that only those who have tried to take a decent pic of their own eye will appreciate the effort you took!

It really is a beautiful picture and it is amazing that an image like that can come from something that can be quite negative if you know what I mean. When i had all my stitches in my eye I found that quite a lovely image aswell a pretty star lol.
and yes well done on getting such a good pic lol

Well done with the photography, and good luck with the appointment.
THe key question is: how well can you see out of the eye, round the faint white patch?
If you can see OK with that eye, don't let anyone tell you it needs a transplant regardless.
In fact, sometimes the scarring round a hydrops healing can make the cornea "stiffer" and slow the KC.
On the other hand, if you are finding that the scarring is still leaving a significant "white hole" in your vision that is bothering you, then maybe you might decide that a transplant would be something you'd want.
In some quarters, or so it may sometimes seem, there is the approach of "hydrops = do a graft" automatically.
It's your eye,your decision, and you can't undo a transplant.

I can see that things are probably slightly more in focus, but I also have really bad ghosting. I'd describe it as almost radial. The ghosting impairs my vision considerably.

Ah.
That's unfortunate. Well, to put in mildly. A bummer, maybe.
That sounds like talking about the prospects of a graft is a sensible option.
I guess I was lucky - the "professionals" started talking about grafts as soon as they saw my first hydrops, but it cleared up pretty well really, and it wasn't until 28 years later (!) that the graft finally happened (and I now much regret it, but that's another story).
