TFT orr CFT Monitors

Postby Richard In Wales » Thu 23 Dec 2004 8:05 pm

well I've been having some problems after my graft but it seems to be getting better now. One thing I have noticed is I am very light sensitive and as such the TFT screen I use hurts my eyes, seems the glare is to much. I'm trying my old CFT now.

has anyone else noticed using a TFT hurts their eyes much ?

The monitor I have at work hurts my eyes, but I have turned the brightness and contrast to less than 50%. I also have an anti-glare screen on it too. Still I need to wear lightly tinted sunglasses for it to be comfortable.

Under HES regulations I have had a VDU assesment and occupational health did a light assesment of my work area and moving to a desk 3 ft away the light is a lot better, but I still need all that I mentioned earlier. At the moment I am experimenting with changes the settings so I see things in negative mode. Tis helps, but is not recognised on all the software I use at work.

Towards end of Jan I get a flat screen monitor so we will see how that goes.

What I will say is my light sensitivity is due to a verey rare post graft change (18 years post graft). After the graft, the light sensitivity went away within the year.

All the best, glad to hear you are making good progress too after the graft.

Merry Christmas

Gareth
