Just wondered if any one is interested in modelmaking? It's one of my interests.
Steve.
Any modelmakers here?

I used to make working model gliders from balsa wood and tissue paper. I once built a working model powered aircraft, but this was inelegant in flight and expensive to crash.
I stopped all this yers ago, but have been thinking wistfully that it would be nice to do again now that I can see well enough to enjoy watching a glider in flight.

I have never made a balsa wood aircraft, but a relative of mine made a Keil Kraft Lysander.
I never saw it completed.

I got into balso wood building of model aircraft when I lived in a town with an excellent club, and plenty of space for flying model aircraft. some of the wealthier members had very smart radio controlled aircraft. The power driven aeroplane I built was controlled by wires.
I liked the gliders.

Re: Any modelmakers here?
Not really a model maker though I have made a few.
I'm a wargamer, so have to assemble and paint units of figures. Some vehicle models from time to time, though nowhere near the etch brass parts and rare injection mulding that serious model makers get into

My cousin plays wargames: calls it an intelligent man's chess!

I play chess a lot but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm thick
Presumably, wargaming is like chess without rules and a lot more pieces? I have some Army friends, so they would probably be quite good?
