I had a check up on Monday at the hospital, and was told about a new material for contact lenses, that apparantly has the permeability of RGP materials, yet has similar wetability (is that a word?) to the older Perspex (PMMA?) lenses.
My optician didn't mention what its name was, I was just wondering if anyone on here has heard more about it?
I have always struggled with lens tolerance as I have dry eyes. I was given a Perspex lens (as they are supposed to have better wetting properties) and some Refresh drops, but with limited success. I was wearing my lens less and less, and now that I cope just fine with my grafted eye

So my optician said she would try and get me a lens in this new material, but it could be awkward as my specific lens is only made by a single company, and they might not be using it yet.
Anyway, thought it was worth mentioning.
(Just wish I could have told you what it was called!)
Rob.
