Louise

With all this new celebrity people might start paying attention. The Mental Health Tsar is a good place to start.

Proud of you

No Jay, this was last night but here are the video clip details:

http://www.uea.ac.uk/~wp276/article.htm

I was having a go at him regarding NICE. Indeed I wasn't the only one who heckled him because his speech went down like a bowl of cold sick, it was completely out of step with the conference and many people are very unhappy with him for a number of reasons. It is not generally felt that he in anyway represents the needs and wishes of service users and service providers

Louise

Thanks for that video clip, we get a lot of patients in work complaining about the mental health system as well and sadly i agree with them. We have a mental health team where i work but i've had a few run ins with them over how patients are treated because of a lack of funding.

I know that they do not want to say that every patient claiming to be sxicxdal is at risk but i don't want any deaths to be on my conscience either. I am sure that when i first went into nursing the old saying that 'the patient is always right' had some meaning to it, so to me if they say they are going to do something i'm more inclined to believe they will than suffer the consequences later :(

Yes Sweet, me too. Sadly the Appleby's and Winterton's of the world don't listen to you or me!
