Sorry I havent come across any papers, just a clinical observation. However,as you know, there are also many keratoconics with small to average corneas! KC is such an enigma, isnt' it?

Enigma is the word, Ali!

I was interested in your observations because classically, KC is thought of in terms of small and steep as far as corneas go, but experience does show that KC is far more complex than that.

There is simply so much work to be done in just classifying what constitutes a KC cornea, methinks!

I remember when I was an outpatient at Manchester Royal Eye Infirmary I was approached several times by different (?student) opthalmologists. They were all trying to find a cause for K.C, linking it to diet, lifestyle, environmental factors etc. One of these guys was doing a study into a theoretical link between head injury and K.C. He was interested in me because I'd received facial injuries in a cycling accident several months before I was diagnosed.
It must be about 17years since I spoke to this guy and I don't know what ever became of his study.

Many student studies that may be part of a final year thes do not get published. Unsure about optometry.

Howver if the same study were part of a Phd thesis, then it would have been published somehwere as part of the Phd.
