I agree about excessive weight lifting, but some people lift pretty heavy weights as part of their ordinary routine: Rosemary lugging bales of hay (upwards of 75 lbs or 45 kg) or the tale-gate of a horse-box would be one example, or librarians lugging piles of books from place to place. People dig their gardens (spade weighs around 3 kg, plus the weight of soil and resistance of clay etc.). People go sailing and heave an anchor from an often sticky sea bed.
Then there are people working in heavy industry ... .. ..
Yes, it is good to know that there is a risk of increased IOP in ordinary activities, and there is a possible increased risk in some extraordinary activities. Anyone who is really concerned about these risks should raise the issue with their ophthalmologist. I'd be interested if any ophthalmologist seriously cautioned against these activities for folk (other than in the early weeks after a graft.)

Lifting weights is dependent on your physiology.
What is easy to lift for me may well be a strain for you so for me the IOP is unlikly to change where it would for someone who is straining.
When you go down the gym your fitness paln is based around what you want to achive. If you want to just stay toned you rarely lift weights where you are straining instead moderate weights are used to give some resistance so the muscles maintain tone and suplement cardia activities to help with weight loss.
The body builders and those who just want to me very muscular strain their muscles more by lifting heavier weights and so strain a bit like weight lifters you see in the olympics.
One of Rosemarys post sums it up pretty well, she can lift the bails and so on but can find them a strain whereas another person at the stables chucks them round as if they are nothing.
As louply Lou says, listen to your body, exercise but listen to your body and all things in moderation. We know going down the gym is good for you but like many other things in life over doing it can lead to all sorts of problems.

Yes fitness instructors do not recommend weightlifting every day because the muscles need to rest, most will say every other day at the most
