If you are not satisfied with one optometrist you have a perfect right to go to another.
In your position I'd ask my Ophthalmologist to recommend an optometrist who may have experience in fitting lenses to KC eyes. the hospital I attend has a contact lens clinic that is staffed by optometrists who have a great deal of experience of both KC and the wide range of lenses that can be tried as the condition advances. I know that in some towns the hospital refers patients to a particular high street optometrist where the patient has all the advantages of a hospital clinic in terms of subsidy for lenses etc.
The Ophthalmologist is the eye surgeon who diagnosed your condition. He or she will know whether your hospital has a contact lens clinic, in which case your surgeon will be able to refer you to them, or a high street optometrist, in which case again the hospital can give you a referral.
All the best.
