Dude you should look into mini scleral lenses before going for Intacs. Intacs stuffed me up for nearly 1 year and then had to be removed. I am still suffering from the damn thing and it has been 1 1/2 years now. I don't mean to place any doubt in your mind so close to the operation, just wanna let you know what can happen. It is not lke you get an intac and thats it. Many vistis back to the surgeon, constantly updated prescriptions, eye drops, pain. I am quit pissed off with my result, the surgeon should have made it more clear what I was up against. If you go through with it I wish you good luck and a speedy recovery

hey, im pretty happy with everything thats been explained to me so far.
im only get one eye done, so i guess if something happens i still have one good eye.

so far i am coping without any aides. i am a little scared tho, he told me if the eye rejects it it'll be really painful.

can i ask where u got your surgery done and the doctor?

I had my surgery on wednesday, very annoying when the nurse missed the vein for the drip 3 times.

I had a little bit of pain after, nothing too bad tho. Strong pain killers helped with this. i found it a little hard to see with having only one eye, the intac eye being covered by a patch for two days. so i decided to just sleep through it.

I got the bandage off this morning, eye is puffy and bloodshot, i cant say i can see an improvement yet, but would be because the eye drops and the cream, as well as the eye being puffy. Hope once the swelling goes down.

i have to go back on the 15th to get the stitches out.

hey, just a quick update. everything is going well, i was supposed to get the stitches out last week but the doc said he wanted to wait two more weeks before taking them out, because he said the implant was close to the incision, and wanted to let the stitches stay a little longer.
so next friday i should hopefully be getting them out.

i cant say i have really noticed an improvement. when i close my left eye, the right eye (the one with the intac) seems to be the same as it always maybe only slightly better. i am noticing the intac picking up light, usually lights at a lower level, below eye line, or direct really bright light. i will see a small u-shaped light glare, slowly getting used to it tho.

one other thing, just before i went in for surgery, he said that i have air bubbles?? in my eye, then something about genitic cataracts, i havent had a chance to figure out what he meant or had a chance to ask him. does anyone know what these might be??

thanks!

I am pretty sure that you will get so used to the glow from your INTACS that you will stop noticing it!

Thanks for the update, and all the best. Stay in touch! Your experience may be of tremendous benefit to others.

i got my stitches out today, which was a huge relief because they were really loose. I must say its really hard to keep ur eye still and not blink when they are coming at it with tweasers.

He say he may want to put another intac in, this time at the top of the eye, to help flatten it out more. I will know more about this once i make another appointment to see him at his other office with the better equipment.

I asked him about the "air bubbles" he said its nothing to worry about, it may mean i might be more proned to delvelope cataracts later in life.

Ozfiz

Thanks for the update. Don't worry about cataracts; they are a breeze!
