Make a donation or leave a lasting legacy to the KC Group

Postby Matt Allgood » Tue 22 Sep 2009 1:04 pm

Dear all

As you may be aware, the KC Group is entirely volunteer run and dependent on donations to enable it to carry out charitable activities. If you would like to make a donation, or a lasting legacy, please visit our profile on the Big Give website (which is run by the Reed Foundation) at:

I am proud to announce to the group, that my up coming debut novel will be published in the coming months if not weeks, it is a non profit novel, some money raised will go to this group, I hope, fingers crossed I can raise plenty, I will be doing radio and newspaper interviews, bringing up the suffering we go through and my other chosen charity is childline. I am very excited with all this as it is my charity work while im out of work and gives me a little confidence back, by the way the novel is called MELTDOWN, and I write under C.A.S. novel.

That's brilliant, Chris. All the very best with this great project - I hope the novel is a huge success. And do let us know when the interviews are in due course. It's wonderful that you're raising the profile of KC in this way.

Hi Anne and all here at the group,

As you are aware and I am aware of most folks on here at some stage we all go to hell and back with this condition, right now Im there, suffering and unemployed, so its pretty lousy for me, but this project will help boost me, raise awareness of how we suffer and maybe even give potential employers out there to see what I am capable of, that is why I want to do all this for charity and of course my other chosen charity childline is important to me, as we are all aware of how vunerable young people and children can be, will keep you all informed with interviews both on radio and newspaper, perhaps fingers cross will raise quite a bit of money and get a mention in next years Keratoconus newsletter, that would be cool. One step at a time. :D

Is Big Give still the most effective way of making a donation? The original post is over four years old now and some of these intermediaries take a commission from donations.

Given they support Give Aid it may well still be the best way but thought it worth checking first.

Thanks,

Hi Grant,

Yes, the Big Give is certainly still the best way of donating to the group. We do now have a justgiving account, but they seem to keep a much larger percentage of donations, which is why we promote the Big Give site.

Regards,
John

Many thanks for letting us know. I've let our webmaster know, and hopefully he'll be able to fix it. Meantime, we're also registered with Justgiving, so you can also donate by going to https://www.justgiving.com/kshsa/
Let me know if that works for you.
Anne
