Lacrilube

Postby jay87 » Sun 13 Jan 2013 8:07 pm

I have bought some Lacrilube today. I just wondered how you guys have found it? Should I keep it in the fridge as its preservative free? I've heard that makes it gloopy. my eyes have been like crisp packets lately when I wake up so I'm looking forward to tonight. Can I use it with hard lenses?

Thanks

I used it for years with rgp's. put it in at night before going to sleep and all was good.

For some reason I found it actually made my eyes feel dryer in the morning after one day becoming intolerant to rgp's. it's a bit greasy to use with soft lenses. I'm using systane drops now and they seem as good as anything. Get an eyebag too. They seem to help.

Hi Nick,

Was just wondering what lenses you are currently wearing if you cannot tolerate the RGP's now?

I am currently unable to tolerate my RGP lens in my left eye and am looking for alternative options.

Cheers

I go through phases of using lacrilube (you can get it on pescription so is cheaper than over the counter btw)when I use it i just use a thin amount at night and ensure first thing in the morning i use hylo tears to remove any residue that may be left, I only use it in phases due to it dries my lower lid line out a lot n gives me excema if I use it too often, plus I go thru phases of ending with small blisters from it., been told by specialist this is a rare reaction to it so dont let it put you off using it x

Thanks for your tips all. I have found it makes my RGPs feel more comfortable and cushioned during the day. I use warm computer screens in a warm office all day, then a centrally heated home continues to dry my eyes out! i think I'm getting used to the consistency of it. I'm going to try 1% celluvisc next
