Who takes you off the blind register. I had my op 21/2 yrs ago on left eye, they cant do right eye so that will stay blind.
Im worried about DLA as im on high rate. Im still on blind register. Ive had 4 ops now on left eye, they are gonna try a lens as glasses are too high a prescription. Im panicking in case i get into trouble with dla now i can see a bit.
Does the doc keep you on blind reg regardless in case it rejects.?

Hi there,
Blind registration and your issues are discussed on the KC Literature thread here http://www.keratoconus-group.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5677
Actually, your ophthalmologist can take you off the register but is unlikely to do so while you are recovering. Can you please read the thread indicated and then email me or PM your particular circumstances?
Lynn

Re: phones and reg blind.
When I came off the register of blind people, it was my own initiative. My sight did fail again a short time later and my ophthalmologist smiled patiently (he is a kind and forbearing man) and told me that the danger of this hiccup was exactly why he had not written to my local authority.
Eighteen months later I contacted the registering authority again and told them that I wanted to come off their register of blind people. This coincided with my applying for the restoration of my driving license. My license was restored and I WAS removed finally from the register just as my ophthalmologist was contacting my registering authority to say that I had now recovered my sight.
My accountant notified the tax authorities and they made an adjustment to my tax status.
Every good wish.

Re: phones and reg blind.
So i will just leave it to him consultant then.
Im not finished yet as they are still trying to improve my sight. Just didnt want to get in trouble. But now i know its not up to me to contact them anyway. Feel much better now.
Thank you

Re: phones and reg blind.
Why not discuss this with your consultant (or his registrar) at your next appointment?
All the best.
