Alternative to Miraflow cleaner

Postby electricheadx » Mon 19 Apr 2010 3:27 pm

Just wondering what people are using as an alternative to the Miraflow cleaner? as it seems to be heading the way of the dinosaur.
My optom informed me today that she cant get anymore of it in, so i need to find something else to use.

Regards
Denis

Denis

I have never used miraflow; I use bausche and lomb cleaner and total care wetting and soaking solution. Once a week I use a protein remover tablet dissolved in saline for an overnight soak.

All the best

I'm experiencing the same problems. After a chat with the people at Moorfields Eye Hospital, I've discovered that they are recommending the following:
With preservatives: Total Care (http://www.amo-inc.com)
Preservative free: Regard RGP (http://www.advancedeyecareresearch.co.uk)

I just spoke to the people at Regard (number on their website) and they gave me some excellent advice on what to use with my sceral lenses and where to get the product.

It is really annoying that you can't get Miraflow anymore, I loved the stuff!! John said he has found it online though but very expensive.

I have gone back to using Boston, as I use the wetting solution. I do have some Miraflow left though as I stocked up when I heard they were disappearing! Should have bought a truck load haha!!

I did too but it's passed its expiry date, The last time it went out of production I tried some of the alternatives but I found them all quite poor.

So few optometrists are now dispensing RGP lenses that it is going to be increasingly difficult to buy cleaners and wetting/ soaking fluids. I am no longer able to buy Bausch and Lomb in the local store and have reverted to using Total Care cleaner as well as the same brand of wetting and soaking fluid. I buy both on line at
