Hello everyone,
I am glad that there is a welsh group on here as I am from Cardiff! I very recently got diagnosed with KC (about 6 months ago) I am only 19 and they say that it develops in the late teens! mine isn't that bad atm, and wasn't referred to a hospital or optimetrest because there was no need for contacts etc which I'm glad about for the moment!
glad to see that people in Wales are talking about KC!

Hi there,

I've been diagnosed with KC for a few years but have managed to get a long without any aids. I now feel that my vision is getting a bit too blurry and should try and sort out some contact lenses.

I live in Cardiff and so was wondering if anyone could recommend an optician in this vicinity?

Thanks,

Owain

Hi there, I haven't been on the website for some time now but just thought I would let you know that my son, Josh (18) is going to have CXL on his right eye next Saturday 15th November 2009. The procedure is being carried out by Mr Vinod Kumar of the Bridgend Eye Hospital at a cost of £1800. Will let you know how he goes on or hopefully he will address the forum himself to share his experience. Josh was diagnosed in 2008 and we have interesting experiences/information which I could do you a little article on if you like of how we finally came to the decision to go for CXL. In the meantime if this post reaches the general discussion forum as well as the Welsh members, then is there anyone else out there that has had cross linking done recently and could share their experience with Josh please?
Gillykee (worriedmum)
